Jeffersonville Housing Authority

To keep our employees, residents, and community safe, The Jeffersonville Housing Authority staff are following the recommendation from our state, local and federal governments by working remotely and has changed its operating procedures until otherwise recommended or informed. We are hopeful that our efforts to flatten the curve in our community will be successful as we do our part to enforce social distancing to help prevent and reduce the spread of Covid-19. We value your health. With this in mind, JHA will be operating in the following matter:
  • From March 23rd to April 3th, 2020:
    • Staff will work remotely.
  • Beginning April 6th, 2020:
    • There will be no in-person briefings, orientations, and recertifications. For those affected by this change a letter will be sent explaining the new procedures to complete their paperwork.
    • JHA offices will be closed to the public.
    • JHA staff will be available from 9AM to 4:30Pm via phone or email. Work Orders for resident will be completed on an emergency basis only and be reported via phone call to management. After hours calls will be handled via our answering services.
    • HCV initial inspections will be conducted only if the unit is unoccupied.
    • Public Housing waitlist will remain open until April 13th, 2020 at 4pm. HCV waitlist will remain closed.
    • Housing applications can be printed online if needed and hand delivered or mailed to Jeffersonville Housing Authority at 206 Eastern Blvd, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
    • Applications delivered on-site will be collected via drop (green) boxes located at the front entrance of the administrative office. Applications received via drop box will be retrieved and time/date stamped as they are pulled.
    • For families without computer access, applications will be available outside the administrative office during business hours.
JHA is closely monitor COVID-19 updates and will continue to adjust its procedures as needed.

The Jeffersonville Housing Authority was established May 1, 1961 by the Common Council of The City of Jeffersonville. Jeffersonville is located along the Ohio River in Southern Indiana across the river from Louisville, Kentucky; the Jeffersonville Housing Authority is a Public Housing Agency servicing the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana pursuant to the State and Federal laws. JHA’s goal is to provide affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing to income-eligible residents in the community. The JHA is overseen by a seven-member Board of Commissioners and managed by a professional staff.
