About Us

The Jeffersonville Housing Authority (JHA) was established May 1, 1961 by the Common Council of The City of Jeffersonville. Jeffersonville is located along the Ohio River in Southern Indiana across the river from Louisville, Kentucky; the Jeffersonville Housing Authority is a Public Housing Agency servicing the city of Jeffersonville, Indiana pursuant to the state and federal laws. JHA’s goal is to provide affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing to income-eligible residents in the community. The JHA is overseen by a seven-member Board of Commissioners and managed by a professional staff. Funding is provided primarily from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and revenues derived from rents and fees. For more information about HUD go to www.HUD.gov.
